Sweet Billy was pulled from a shelter in SC and has traveled to CT to find a home of his own. He is currently being fostered in Central CT. Billy is about 2-3 years old and he weighs 58lbs so he’s a great size. Billys personality is true to his Treeing Walker Coonhound Breed. When he is outside he instantly goes to work scenting and tracking. He does best on a Gentle leader for walks as he thinks he is on the Job nose to the ground. Once he is inside he takes off his work vest and enjoys the creature comforts of home. His foster has been working on keeping him off the furniture and he is picking it up nicely. Billy is completely crate trained and even goes in it on his own with his bones. He is working on house breaking still but has done well with his foster and staying on a schedule. This loveable boy hasn’t met a person or dog who he doesn’t like. If there are children in Billys future home they should be older sturdier children. Billys tail is very strong and has a mind of its own and could easily knock over a small child. Billys ideal adopter would have some experience with his breed or other hunting/tracking/working breeds. His owner would be firm yet very kind and able to continue with his basic obedience. Billy knows sit and is working on down and stay. Please email Rachel@asecondchanceforziva.com if interested in fostering or adopting sweet Billy.
