Hi Everyone, my name is Jack! I’m a 10 years young Jack Russel Terrier and I’m looking for my perfect forever home.
Prior to finding my way into rescue, I lived my life as an outdoor dog, so there are many things that are new to me. I’m learning that life as a pet who gets to be inside is pretty and around people is pretty exciting. I’m still a little apprehensive about the new sounds I hear indoors, such as the vacuum cleaner, but I’m quickly learning that it’s not such a scary thing.
While living life outside, I didn’t have much contact from humans, so my ideal family will need to have a little patience with me. I can be a bit timid at first but my foster mom says that I’ve already come a long way in the last few weeks. It took me a little while, but I quickly realized that getting pets and rubs is really great. My new family will just need to be a little patient with me. I’m not a huge fan of being on laps yet, and I’m not sure if that will ever be my thing, but I’m content to lay at your feet while you sit in your favorite chair.
My foster mom says that I walk well on a leash. I don’t mind going into my crate and I prefer to do my business outside, which she calls me a good boy for doing! I have a bunch of four-legged foster siblings and I don’t mind their company. I don’t think I’d like to live with a dog who is super young or rambunctious, though. I lived with some cats for a bit and I was really curious about them. They look really fun to chase so I’m not really sure if a kitty would like to have me around.
My foster mom says that I’m a sweet old guy. I come out of my shell more and more every day. I would love a patient home that will just give me time, attention, and lots of treats.
I am currently located in a foster home in TX and am vaccinated, neutered and healthy. My bags are packed and I am ready to travel to New England any time you are ready to meet me!
