Hi my name is Wellston and I am a Double Merle Aussie. I am 25lbs and 5 mos old so I will be the perfect medium size dog when I grow up. Unfortunately, my prior owner kept me in a dumpster on his property because I was not like one of the other “normal” dogs. You see, I am deaf and partially blind. I am told this happened to me because both my parents were Merle Aussies and when bred, they produced Double Merle puppies (or Lethal Whites) who are very often either blind, deaf or both. But in spite of my disabilities and my not being treated well in my prior home, I am one very happy puppy. I am in a great foster home now and my foster mom is awesome. She knows sign language and she taught me how to sit. She says I make great eye contact with her too so I will learn quickly. There are several dogs and cats in my foster home and I love to play with them all, but also love my naps on the couch. I am crate trained and working on potty training. I am hoping my forever home has another dog (or two) and a nice big fenced yard to run and play in. I would also love a human sibling too! Someone who has experience with a deaf dog and hand signal training so that I could continue learning would be ideal. I am neutered and vaccinated and ready to go!
I am still in Oklahoma but anxious to head to my forever home in New England which they tell me will be very soon. Please contact email@example.com or submit an application on the website (www.asecondchanceforziva.com) if you want to adopt me. I promise I will make you very happy if you do!
